Living in Teton Valley

Teton Valley is home to over 6500 people and growing. Many people commute from Teton Valley to jobs in Jackson, WY, Rexburg & Idaho Falls, ID. The largest employers in Teton County include the government, Grand Targhee Resort and the school district. Teton Valley Health Care has been supplying Teton Valley with quality medical care since 1938. It is a county-owned Primary health care organization licensed under the State of Idaho and certified by Medicare as a Critical Access facility. If you have school age children, you’ll be interested in the educational opportunities available. Teton County School District #401 is the public school system for Teton County. It is comprised of 3 elementary schools for grades 1-5 in each of the three communities, there is a kindergarten located in Driggs that serves the valley, as well as a middle school (grades 6-8) and a high school (grades 9-12). We are lucky to be able to offer all the students in the valley a safe and fun learning environment. Teachers take advantage of our location and often offer field trips to Yellowstone and various places throughout Idaho. Additionally, Grand Targhee offers students a fun five week winter sports program that allows students of all ages to be introduced to a variety of fun winter activities from alpine and cross country skiing, to ice skating and snow shoeing.

In 2006, residents approved a bond that will allow the school district to build a new middle school in Driggs and add onto the existing high school (which was built in 1999). There are also numerous private schools located in and around Teton Valley that offer children from K-8th grade opportunities to learn in a smaller, multi-grade environment.
